Farming attempts...

In 2008, I decided to start growing my own vegetables. I started with heirloom egg plant, tomatoes, long beans, squash, kaboocha, and beets. Tending to the garden is hard work and a daily chore. I got up early to water the garden and attempted to do some yard work in the evenings. The only help I had was from my 83 year old granny. As life got the best of me, I began to neglect the garden and the only surviving vegetable were the hearty egg plants and tomatoes. In addition to this, I always had green onions, parsely, basil, rosemary, thyme, and parsely...but also ended up with just green onions and rosemary. Due to my busy schedule, Uncle Joe decided to spray the garden area due to the overgrown weeds. Here is the current state of the sad garden area:

So this year, I commit myself to clean up the mess and replant my veggies!

I failed to mention another garden area up front by my grannies house. We planted more egg plant and purple sweet potato. Again...weeds...and no more veggies!

AAAGGGHHHHH! I'm a terrible farmer! My grandpa would be so disappointed at me for killing the vegetables. Well, it's not like I'm ignorant to it, I just had no more time and no more help to do this. I now understand why a successful garden requires the hands of many people.

The only thing that we can currently eat are the guava's, lychee, jabong, orange, and fig. Wow, only the fruits have survived. What the frack?

I will try to make a better effort with the vegetable garden...but no promises!
